Terms of Service

Last updated: October 1, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms are an agreement between you and Darius Busuioc (an individual based in Moldova, not a registered company), who operates Zlayo (“Zlayo”, “the Service”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to the documents they link to: the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Copyright & Takedown Policy, No-Refund Policy and Disclaimer. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Who can use Zlayo

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract where you live. By using the Service you confirm that you are. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete its data.

If you use Zlayo for a business or on someone else's behalf, you confirm you have the authority to accept these Terms for them, and “you” includes them.

3. What Zlayo does

Zlayo turns long-form video into short clips: it transcribes a video you upload or link, picks and scores moments, reframes them for vertical, square or horizontal formats, and adds captions, titles and tags you can edit. It also includes standalone tools: voiceovers, Reddit-style story videos, fake-texting videos, split-screen videos, audiobooks, a full editor, caption templates, and a link downloader for YouTube.

Most processing runs on the servers that host Zlayo. Some features can use third-party AI providers when they're switched on; the Privacy Policy lists which ones and what they receive.

4. Your account

Give accurate sign-up information and keep your password secret. You're responsible for everything done under your account, including by anyone you let use it. Accounts are for one person; don't share, sell or transfer yours. Tell us straight away at busuiocd67@gmail.com if you think someone else has access to it.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you upload, link or type into Zlayo (“your content”), and of the clips, videos, audio and text the Service makes from it (“output”), to the extent you had rights in the underlying material to begin with. We don't claim ownership of either.

You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, copy, process, transcribe, translate, edit and render your content only as needed to run the Service for you: to produce your output, show it back to you, keep it until you delete it, and keep the Service secure. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for legal reasons or that sit in backups until they're overwritten. If you create a public share link, you also let us show that content to anyone who has the link until you turn sharing off.

You promise that you own your content or have every permission needed to use it this way, including rights to any footage, music, voices, images, scripts and stories in it, and permission from people who appear in it where the law requires that. Stories and posts copied from Reddit or other sites belong to their authors; you're responsible for having the right to use them.

AI tools can produce output that looks or sounds like output made for someone else. We don't promise your output is unique, and other users may get similar results.

7. The link downloader

The downloader fetches video or audio from a YouTube link you paste. You alone are responsible for having the right to download and use that content, and for following the source platform's own terms, which may forbid downloading even when it's technically possible. We don't check what you download. We don't promise any link will work, that a particular quality will be available: platforms change how they serve video without notice, and we may limit or remove the downloader at any time.

8. Rules and copyright

Using Zlayo means following the Acceptable Use Policy. We respond to copyright complaints as set out in the Copyright & Takedown Policy, and we close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe.

9. Paid plans and refunds

Zlayo doesn't charge for anything yet. If paid plans are introduced, their price, what they include, how billing and renewal work and how to cancel will be shown to you before you pay, and those terms will form part of these Terms.

Payments are not refunded. That is set out in full in the No-Refund Policy, along with the two things it does not cover: genuine billing mistakes on our side, and rights your local consumer law gives you that can't be signed away. The free plan is there so you can try Zlayo on your own footage before paying anything.

10. Posting to other platforms

What you do with your output after it leaves Zlayo is up to you. TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, Twitch and every other platform enforce their own rules, and they alone decide whether to flag, mute, limit, demonetise, remove or strike your content or suspend your account. We're not responsible for those decisions, including copyright claims or strikes against content made or downloaded with Zlayo. See the Disclaimer for the full list.

11. AI-generated output

Transcripts, captions, clip picks, titles, tags and other output are made by automated systems. They can mishear speech, mistranslate, get timing wrong, choose poor moments or say something inaccurate or inappropriate. Check output before you publish or rely on it. Nothing Zlayo produces is legal, financial, medical or professional advice, and we make no promise about how many views, followers or earnings any output will get.

12. Availability and changes

We try to keep Zlayo running and your files safe, but we don't promise it will always be available, fast, free of bugs, or that renders will always succeed. We may add, change, limit or remove features, set usage limits, or pause the Service for maintenance. Some features may be labelled beta and work less reliably. Keep your own copies of source files and finished output that matter to you.

13. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Zlayo and delete your account whenever you like from your account page.

We may suspend or close your account, or remove content, if you break these Terms or the policies they link to, if the law requires it, if your use puts the Service, other users or us at risk, or if we stop offering the Service. We'll tell you and explain why where it's reasonable and lawful to do so. Sections that by their nature should survive the end of this agreement, including 5 (ownership), 14 to 18 and 20, do.

14. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent the law allows, Zlayo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. The Disclaimer explains specific risks we don't take responsibility for, and forms part of these Terms.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • We're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for lost profits, revenue, earnings, audience, followers, data, goodwill or business opportunities, however caused, even if we were told they were possible.
  • Our total liability for all claims connected with the Service is limited to the greater of (a) what you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) 50 euros.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that can't legally be limited or excluded, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or deliberate wrongdoing, or your rights as a consumer that can't be waived under the law where you live.

16. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our losses, liabilities and reasonable costs (including legal fees) from any claim by someone else arising from your content, your output, how you use the Service, content you download, your posts on other platforms, or your breach of these Terms or anyone's rights.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes, we'll update the date above and, where reasonable, let account holders know before the change applies. If you keep using Zlayo after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms; if you don't accept them, stop using the Service and delete your account.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Moldova, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes go to the courts of Moldova. If you're a consumer, you also keep any protection that the mandatory law of the country where you live gives you, and you may bring a claim in the courts there where that law allows.

19. Contact

Zlayo is operated by Darius Busuioc, an individual based in Moldova, not a registered company. Questions about these Terms: busuiocd67@gmail.com.

20. General

If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, that part is limited or removed only as much as needed, and the rest stays in force. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we haven't given it up. You can't transfer your rights under these Terms without our agreement; we may transfer ours as part of a sale, merger or reorganisation of the Service. These Terms and the documents they link to are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
